Christmas 2010 - December 24th - 27th 2010

Arrive on Christmas Eve in time for Afternoon Tea by the fire and an opportunity to meet fellow guests. Then get into the
'Festive mood' with a glass of mulled wine and some informal, light
hearted singing of your favourite carols and traditional Christmas songs in the
Brathay Room, accompanied by Pete Brown on
the piano.
Our delicious 5-course dinner is served at 8pm and,
after dinner, there is the option to attend one of Midnight Services at the local Churches, with
mince pies and sherry waiting for you on your return.
On Christmas Day enjoy a relaxing morning with a glass of Champagne to toast the season before sitting down to a fantastic, leisurely 6-course Turkey Lunch. We are usually lucky enough to have a visit from a 'special' guest as he completes his busy schedule, but only if you've been very, very good ......

After lunch, join in with the now traditional 'Rothay Manor games' which gently stretch your knowledge, ingenuity and artistic skills and are a source of great hilarity and an ideal 'ice-breaker.
A light, cold buffet supper is available for residents in the evening.
Boxing Day is an opportuntity to get out and about and enjoy the spectacular Lakeland scenery and the local area - there are normally some sales on at the local shops in Ambleside for those in need of a little 'retail therapy'! Return to relax by the fire in time for Afternoon Tea.
After Dinner, join us for 'A Night at the Races' - an opportunity to 'place your bets' with absolutely no risk to your pocket! A real fun night with a prize for the winner.
Relax and enjoy the last day of the holiday. In the morning, we are hoping to arrange a visit to the Langdale & Ambleside Mountain Rescue station which is a short walk away from the hotel. There you can see all the equipment they use in the course of their work including the Land Rovers, and see film footage too. This is obviously dependant upon whether they are called out or not, but we keep our fingers crossed ......
In the afternoon, another chance to visit places around the area before returning home to 'normality' tomorrow.
A last opportunity to get together and enjoy the fantastic food provided by Head Chef, Jane and her team in the kitchen as our House Party draws to a close.
