Record number of people flock to Cartmel

A RECORD 16,000 people basked in the sunshine as the Cartmel Races got underway at the weekend.

Country Fest draws thousands

The first ever Country Fest has drawn thousands of visitors to the Westmorland County Showground at Crooklands on day one of the inaugural two-day event.

Armitt in talks with university

A PUBLIC museum encompassing 2000 years of Lake District literature, art and history has been temporarily closed.
The Armitt museum and library in Ambleside features original works by Beatrix Potter and Kurt Schwitters, as well as Roman artefacts and rare books.
