Restaurant
Nowhere is the philosophy that 'if
it is worth doing it is worth doing properly'
more apparent than in the Manor's restaurant. At Rothay Manor,
dining is treated as an experience to be savoured to the full.
The menu is varied and meals are prepared and served to the
highest of standards with flair and imagination. The Hotel
is widely acclaimed in all the major guides for its culinary
expertise, and has a personally compiled wine list with comprehensive
coverage of all the wine regions of the world. The Dining
Room itself is spacious with tables laid in a classical style.
The relaxing atmosphere and view of the
gardens make it the perfect setting for any meal - whether
it be lunch, dinner or a private party. Service is efficient
yet unobtrusive, which makes each and every visitor feel truly
at ease. This element of personal concern perhaps explains
that elusive quality, remarked upon by so many guests, which
sets Rothay Manor in the class of a true Country House Hotel.
Rothay Manor is renowned for the excellent
Afternoon Tea, with an Award
of Excellence from the Tea Council and more recently being
mentioned as one of the '50 Best Places for Afternoon Tea
in the World' by the Guardian newspaper.
Choose from a selection of savouries, cream
cakes, tea breads, scones with jam and cream and more! The
buffet-style tea can be enjoyed while relaxing in the comfort
of either of the manor's lounges. Booking is advisable to
avoid disappointment.
Afternoon Tea makes an ideal treat for
someone special - ask about our Gift
Letter Service.
Rothay Manor has 3 Stars & 1 Rosette
from the AA
and has been listed in the Good Food Guide for 38 years, as well as in all the major guides.
Following the recent launch of the 'Scores on the Doors' web-based campaign allowing the general public to access information about hygiene inspections carried out by Environmental Health Officers, the hotel is delighted to be one of only seven businesses in South Lakeland awarded a 5 star (excellent) rating.
