More Advanced Bridge Holiday
March 15th - 20th 2009
Do you play Bridge regularly at club level or above, but feel a bit “stuck’ and are not improving as fast as you would like ? This holiday gives you the chance to get off the “plateau” and significanly improve the standard of your game, by playing more advanced Bridge than a standard holiday.
Duplicate Bridge
- On each of the 5 days there will be a competition of at least 24 boards,
played late afternoon and in the evening.
Full Mornings
- On two of the mornings there will be an in depth tutorial session with illustrative hands to get you thinking.
Short Mornings
- These two mornings will begin with a discussion of tricky hands encountered the previous day, but
will finish at the 10.45 coffee break, leaving more free time
to explore the Lake District.
Topics - Competitive Bidding and Slam Bidding.
The holiday will begin at 3.15 p.m. on Sunday, has plenty of free time to see the Lake District, and ends with coffee at 10.45 a.m. on Friday.

TUTOR
Philip Wraight is an EBU Life Master having played bridge for 30 years at club and County level. He has a lot of experience in directing competitions and organising tournaments and is a qualified Tournament Director at club and county level. He is a Professional member of the English Bridge Union Teachers Association and enjoys teaching bridge to anybody who is willing to listen. Currently, he has a number of classes for beginners and improvers in the South Cumbria area. He looks forward to welcoming you on this holiday and sharing his enthusiasm for the great game of Bridge. Philip believes that the main reason for playing Bridge is to enjoy it and that the better you play any game, the more you enjoy it.
