 We are passionate about food, and creating wonderful, memorable dining experiences. Whether you are looking for a romantic meal for two or to while away an evening catching up with family and friends, our restaurant is perfect for all occasions.

We are delighted to have been awarded 3 AA rosettes for culinary excellence for 4 consecutive years and in 2021 we were awarded a Michelin Plate.

On Sunday's we serve a traditional Sunday Lunch, the perfect occasion to gather family and friends to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.

With advance notice some of our dishes can be adapted for special diets, but please be aware that, depending on the severity of the intolerance/allergy, choice may be limited.  We do also require advance notice of Vegetarian/Vegan diets.

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea is leisurely affair here at Rothay Manor.  Enjoy a wonderful afternoon with friends and family savoring this Great British Tradition!  Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed in our light-filled restaurant, or outside on our sunny terrace when the weather is fine.  Choose from a wide selection of loose leaf tea from Jing, and exceptional coffee from local supplier Farrer's of Kendal.  You will be treated to a selection of finger sandwiches, delicious scones and a delectable array of sweet treats.  The menu changes regularly to make the most of fresh, seasonal and local ingredients.

Afternoon Tea is priced at £29 per person

Served Monday - Saturday 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Advance reservations are required.

Our Festive Afternoon Tea is served from the 4th - 31st December and is available Monday - Saturday.

We are thrilled to have appointed Aaron Lawrence as our new head chef at Rothay Manor.  Aaron brings exceptional experience, enthusiasm, and expertise to the Rothay family. Sharing our love for the best of British produce, independent producers, and seasonal suppliers.

Growing up in Derbyshire, Aaron's love for the English countryside has inspired his passion for fresh, British produce and he develops his menus inline with this ethos.  Aaron is classically trained and has worked in some of the best hotels in the North West, including The Samling and The Gilpin.

Aaron is joined by a team of talented chefs who are passionate about delivering the highest quality food.
